Precipitation comes in many different forms. Precipitation can come in forms of rain, snow, sleet and hail. Precipitation is the highest in persistent low-pressure zones. Without precipitation there would be no rain, storms, or cloud. Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air. When water vapor changes from a gas to a liquid that is condensation. Condensation occurs when air cools and reaches a temperature and when it can't hold more water vapor, wallah! Condensation! Condensation comes in the form of clouds, dew, frost and fog. Evaporation is when water changes from a liquid to a gas.
The definition of a mountain is a large natural elevation of the earth's surface rising abruptly from the surrounding level. (a large hill) The higher you go up a mountain(increase in elevation) it causes a drop in the temperature. That is why at the base of the mountain it is warm and at the summit it is cold and often has snow. When moist air pushes against a mountain that is called the oreographic effect and the barrier forces air to rise. Precipitation also is interlocked with mountain, when rising air cools and condenses it forms clouds above the mountains. The windward side of the mountain is the side facing wind and has a lot of moisture. the side facing away from the wind is a drier area is the Leeward side and usually has a rain shadow.
